Robert Parker is a renowned wine critic and publisher of The Wine Advocate, who originated the now familiar 50-100 point scale. Also using the numerical scale are The Wine Spectator and The Wine Advocate. In general, tastings are conducted blind and often price is not a factor in assigning scores to wines. The review that really counts is yours, but a professional rating can help you find new wines or find a reviewer that has a similar palate to you.
